Horses & Riding
The all-weather menage on the organic farm at Dan-yr-Efail is beautifully situated by the Bechan Brook, and the specially surfaced enclosure, 20 metres by 40 metres, makes an ideal exercise and tuition area. There is also newly converted stabling, where up to five horses can be accommodated, and lovingly groomed and cared for, while you holiday in this area. Karen is a BHS Assistant Instructor, so lessons covering all aspects of riding can be arranged, including dressage, show-jumping and cross-country, and you can also polish your skills on the one-mile track laid out on their attractive farmland.
If you would like to venture further afield to experience some of the best riding the area has to offer, your horses can be transported (by prior arrangement) to, for example, the beach at Ynys-las, or to Bwlch-y-Fridd, where there is a cross-country course suitable for riders from Pony Club right through to affiliated eventers. And of course all of this is backed up by an excellent veterinary service
A special feature at Dan-yr-Efail are their 'Own a Pony' weekends for children. Here young riders can learn how to look after their pony, how to groom, how to muck out, and they can also practise their basic riding skills.
These courses have to be booked in advance, so please call for details.
